Brazil Irmas Pereira

from 14.00

This coffee has soul and it's super bad (meaning good). It's for every man, woman, and child. I've even considered giving it to animals - it's that good. Think melted candy bar and candied orange rind.

ROASTER’S NOTES:
We cupped a boatload of coffees this year at SCAA and of all the lots, none were more enjoyable than this Brazilian from Fazenda Irmas Pereira. It’s sticky-sweet like melted orange blossom honey being drizzled over a bar of milk chocolate and landing on one of Mr. Graham’s crackers. If you’re looking for a respite from the onslaught of super complex African coffees – this is definitely your jam!

BREW RECOMMENDATIONS:
Let’s go Kalita: 25 grams coffee in and pour 380 grams over it - the brew should finish right around 03:30. Get ready to splash a super sweet cup of mellow gold on your lips. As Espresso, go 20 grams in and pull 40 grams out in 30 seconds for a shot of liquid candy bar.

IMPORTER'S NOTES:
With the dream of a better life, Antonio Andrade Pereira Filho and Maria da Conceição Costa Pereira decided to invest in his farm of 90 acres in the city of Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais. In 1971 they planted the first coffee seedlings in a city where coffee production was on the rise.

The coffee produced on the farm is the Arabica, and has several varieties as Acaiá, Red Bourbon, yellow bourbon, yellow and red Catuai, yellow and red Catucaí and the Novo Mundo, the best quality are yellow and red Bourbon variety and after that the coffees of the yellow strain.

With an amazing aroma and distinctive taste, its flavor varies from citrus fruits to bittersweet chocolate. Because of this, the Irmas Pereira Farm is today internationally recognized for the high quality of their products, which have already won many awards for specialty coffees like the Cup Of Excellence BSCA (Brazil Specialty Coffee Association), the Award of Ernesto Illy quality Coffee Espresso for the Illycaffèe and the Competition quality Coffees of Minas Emater-MG (Technical Assistance and Rural Extension of Minas Gerais).
