THE DEETS

We love Guatemalan coffees, so we’re stoked to roast one as intriguing as this! La Montana is a naturally processed coffee grown by Don Gerson on his farm, Finca San Rafael. It’s a blend of Bourbon and Caturra varieties grown at 1,700 meters above sea level.

La Montana's exceptional quality results from Don's dedication to his craft. After entering and placing 19th in the “Cup of Excellence” competition in 2019, Don decided to put more of his efforts into experimenting with non-traditional processing, with hopes of further improving the quality of his coffee. After years of trying washed, natural, and anaerobic processes, he’s found that his natural performs the best.

La Montana starts with big dark fruit notes and is complimented by a long, sweet finish. It reminds us of freshly baked blueberry muffins! It's reminiscent of a natural Ethiopian coffee and has fruit for days. We're thrilled to work with this producer for the first time and can't wait to share his coffee with you. Enjoy!
