THE DEETS

This coffee comes to us from the Kagamuga Dry Mill in the Jikawa province of Papua New Guinea. It's made up of 1500 smallholder farms between Kindeng and Arufa municipalities. The members bring their ripest cherries to be dried on raised beds. The cherries are rotated multiple times daily until they reach a uniform average moisture content across the lot. Once the coffee is dried, it is hulled, milled, sorted for defects, and prepped for export.

Natural processed PNG coffees aren't that common, especially ones as beautiful as this one from the Wahgi Valley. The team at Kagamuga crushed it with this lot. The Wahgi Valley is one of the more exciting coffees we've tasted all year. It has the perfect combination of being complex and a total gulper at the same time. Look for cooked strawberries, blood orange, and cocoa notes in the cup. Trust us, you won't want to miss out on this one!
