THE DEETS

Kenya is one of our absolute favorite coffee origins. Thunguri is the first natural processed Kenyan coffee we've ever gotten our hands on! Almost all the coffee Exported from the country undergoes the more traditional washed process, which is what we've come to expect here at Perc. When we tasted this one, we knew we had to share it with y'all.

Thunguri Estate is located in Nyeri County, Kenya. It was started in 1979, producing coffee on a small scale. Thunguri has since grown to produce nearly 100,000 kilos of coffee annually, employing 425 farmers. At Thunguri, the coffee cherries are hand-picked and sorted before being dried under natural sunlight on raised beds. During this drying stage, the coffee takes on its characteristic winey fruit flavor. We get notes of Strawberry shortcake, a green apple acidity, and lots of sugary sweetness in the cup. We hope you dig it as much as we do!
