THE DEETS
It’s been a while since we sourced a coffee from Rwanda. This one from the Gitwe washing station was an absolute stunner on the cupping table. It's got tons of clean, bright stone fruit flavors and a sweet brown sugary finish. It’s got fruit cup vibes but is surprisingly balanced for an African coffee. You’ll definitely need more than just one cup!
Gitwe washing station was built in 2018 in the hills of Rwanda near Nyungwe natural forest. The quality of coffee grown in the area can be attributed to high altitude, optimal rain conditions, and rich volcanic soil. Coffee cherries delivered to Gitwe are pulped right away, fermented for 8-12 hours, then sundried on raised beds for 10-15 days.
