This coffee comes to us from Santos Faustino Garcia Flores, a coffee producer in the Piura region of Peru. Santos's farm, Nogal and La Playa is in the Carmen de la Frontera district near the Ecuadorian border in northern Peru. The area has varied altitudes, climates, and terrain, which contributes to the coffee's pleasant complexity. Santos has been farming coffee since he was 15 years old. He grows Caturra, Bourbon, Catimor, and Pache varieties among the shade of banana trees. We love this particular lot. It's sweet and smooth, with enough subtle complexity to keep you coming back for more. We taste sweet maple syrup and candied lemon flavors in the cup with a rich brown sugar finish. This one goes down so easily that you might want a big bag!
