We love Guatemalan coffees, so we were super-stoked to find one this intriguing. La Montana is a naturally processed coffee produced by Don Gerson Adoni Martinez Villatoro at Finca San Rafael in Huehuetenango. La Montana is grown 1700-1900 meters above sea level and is a blend of Bourbon and Caturra varieties.

La Montana's exceptional quality results from Gerson's dedication to his craft. After placing 19th in the 2019 "Cup of Excellence competition," Gerson looked for ways to improve his coffee. He experimented with washed, natural, and anaerobic processing methods and found that the natural processed coffee performed best.

La Montana starts with big dark fruit notes and is complimented by a long, sweet finish. It reminds us of freshly baked blueberry muffins! It's reminiscent of a natural Ethiopia coffee. We're thrilled to work with Don Gerson Adoni Martinez Villatoro for the first time, and we can't wait to share his coffee with you. Enjoy!

🔥 JUST BREW IT 🔥

  • BREW RATIO

Try a 16:1 water-to-coffee ratio for brewed coffee and a 2.7:1 for espresso for the most balanced cups.

  • GRIND SIZE

You will need a finer grind than usual for espresso and pour-over as Guatemala La Montana flows quickly.

  • BREWER

Aeropress is our favorite brew method for this coffee. Look for heavy-bodied, sweet, and balanced cups.

  • BREWER

The Clever is a great way to fine-tune your cup. Steep this one a little longer than most for the best cup!
