The goal of the Recruitment Lot is to identify and develop emerging producers who have chosen coffee as both a passion and a profession. The program goes beyond supporting youth. It highlights talented producers crafting exceptional coffee while helping them to establish and build their brands. Once approved, the coffees are blended into a large shared lot. During this process, Unblended works closely with each producer to understand their challenges, goals, and desired flavor profiles. The ultimate goal is long-term growth, helping producers refine their craft, strengthen their brand, and create opportunities to offer single-origin coffees of their own in the future. The resulting cup is sweet and balanced, with a sturdy body and notes of red apple, honey, and brown sugar.
We recommend letting fresh coffee rest to allow the beans to stabilize. This will result in a sweeter, more expressive cup. We rest washed coffees 5–10 days, naturals 10–15 days, and experimentals 15–30 days.
